Yesterday on 7th September 2022, Apple announced its new iPhone 14 series phones namely iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The devices are not yet available in the market but should arrive shortly. The first two phones come with slightly lower specifications and prices as well compared to the latter two.
iPhone 14 and 14 Plus
Both of these phones are coming with pretty fine designs. The only main difference between these phones is in the size of the display and therefore also in size and weight. iPhone 14 is coming with a 6.1 inches screen whereas the plus version is offering a 6.7 inches screen.
So, what is different compared to last year’s iPhone 13 series? We have a so-called cinematic mode for both front and back camera video recording. They can record professional movie-style 4K videos. We have seen it already last year from Apple. But this year it goes even further with the new cinematic features. The lighting etc. has also been improved for photography. Altogether we have some fair upgrades in the camera section.
The next big feature is the Emergency SOS via satellite. Let’s say you are lost in the middle of nowhere like in the movie 127 hours from 2010 and you do not have any mobile network or WiFi signal. Now, you have a special feature that can send an emergency SOS directly to the satellite and through it, you can be located and rescued. It can as well detect a severe car crash via advanced machine learning of the movements and send SOS. Now, these are some really innovative, highly useful and admirable features for many parts of the world. This is bringing real value to the customers than just showing off their new gadget. Yes, Apple is back.
iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max
These models are coming with all the features mentioned above plus an even better quality back camera. The camera quality of these two models are much more improved compared to the last year’s iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max versions especially when it comes to low-light performance. Below is a demonstration of the upgrade in the camera compared to last year.
Then we have a higher quality display compared to the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, and upgraded 4 nm Apple 16 Bionic chipset which according to Apple is the most powerful chipset in any phone as of today. The Pro version comes with a 6.1″ display and the Pro Max is coming with a 6.7″ display. Finally, we are seeing that the traditional Apple notch is gone for both these devices. They are coming with a futuristic-looking punch-hole notch front camera design. We also have 6 GB RAM here instead of 4 GB like the phones mentioned above. The storage option is up to 1 TB for both of these phones. All four devices will run on iOS 16 out of the box.
