Realme released its first 5G smartphone in Bangladesh named Realme 8 5G. It is also the most affordable official 5G phone in the Bangladeshi market right now. The device is priced at ৳24,990 which is currently available at an offer price of ৳19,990 only. It makes Realme 8 5G to be one of the cheapest 5G smartphones in the smartphone industry altogether.
The gadget is somewhat similar to the previously released Realme 8. Both phones look the same and there are many similarities in the specifications but there are many differences as well. The older Realme 8 comes with better specs altogether except the performance and 5G part. Realme 8 has a Super AMOLED display whereas the 5G version has a lower quality IPS LCD display. The old one has a much better camera too, a faster 30W charging compared to the 18W charging of the 5G model as well as an in-display fingerprint sensor. The 5G version has no 4K recording, ultrawide lens, slightly lower-quality main lens and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Of course, the 5G version has a MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset which will provide much faster internet speed and better performance altogether. But that’s it. 5G is not yet available in Bangladesh and it may take up to two years for the network to be fully functional outside the capital city Dhaka. So, considering this, if the 5G part is not relevant for you right now, you may very well go for the regular Realme 8 version for a much better camera, faster charging, excellent display and in-display fingerprint sensor
