A lighterage vessel anchored in the sea off Chittagong port caught fire.
Eyewitnesses saw the fire that started at around 11:30 on Friday night burning from the shore at around 12:30.
Chittagong EPZ Fire Station official Absar Uddin told bdnews24.com that the fire service personnel went to the seashore after receiving information about the fire. But they have not yet arranged to go to the lighter ship.
He said that the lighterage was anchored in the sea at least two kilometers away from Akmal Ali Ghat. There are no boats or trawlers to reach there.
