Division wise circular is being published for the recruitment of assistant teachers instead of simultaneous circular as before. On February 28, a notice was issued for Rangpur, Barisal and Sylhet divisions.
After the examination in Rangpur, Barisal and Sylhet in May, the examinations of the rest of the divisions will also be conducted quickly, said the official of DPE authority.

As the recruitment notice published for three categories did not mention the number of vacancies, similarly the recruitment notice published for the remaining five categories will not have vacancies. According to the sources of the Directorate of Primary Education, the number of approved posts so far is 7 thousand 463. However, the number of posts will increase. Sources in the Department of Primary Education said that the notice of the remaining five departments will be released within the next two weeks. Exams will start from next May after publication of recruitment of all divisions in three phases. Candidates of Rangpur, Barisal and Sylhet divisions published in the first phase are scheduled to conduct the examination in May. However, the date has not been finalized yet.
Recruitment as per quota system as before:
According to the government primary school teacher recruitment rules-2019, the recruitment of assistant teachers will be done according to the quota system as before, said the Directorate of Primary Education.
Director General of Primary Education Department Shah Rezwan Hayat told Prothom Alo that assistant teachers are appointed according to Primary School Teacher Recruitment Rules-2019. Candidates will be appointed as per quota as mentioned in recruitment rules.
According to the recruitment rules-2019, 60 percent female quota, 20 percent male quota and 20 percent male quota for the post of assistant teachers. In each of these three quota categories, 20 percent candidates with Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in science must be ensured. However, in this way, if qualified candidates for science subjects are not found in the three quota, then the appointment can be made on the basis of merit.
In case of filling up of women, pets and men quota, any other rule or government decision for the time being in force, if any special class quota has fixed, then the appointment should be made according to the provisions related to that quota.
