Sehli Sabreen said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the opening plenary session of the conference on the morning of March 5 as a special guest speaker. The UN Secretary General, the President of the General Assembly and the current chair of the LDC Group will address the President of Malawi.
On that afternoon, the Prime Minister will also address a side event jointly organized by three Asian countries – Bangladesh, Nepal and Laos – which are on the way to transition from the list of least developed countries.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the business conference organized jointly by Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority in the morning of March 6.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will also be present as the chief guest at the side event organized by Bangladesh at noon on that day. Ministerial representatives of Egypt, Singapore, Estonia and high-level representatives of several international organizations including World Trade Organization, United Nations Tech Bank for LDCs, OECD will attend this side event.
On the same day in the evening, the Prime Minister will participate in the Regional Envoys’ Conference organized with the Bangladeshi ambassadors assigned to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to co-chair a high-level round table meeting on international investment and regional coordination in the least developed countries on the morning of March 7.
In the afternoon of the same day, the Prime Minister will attend the side event organized by Bangladesh as the chief guest. The side event will be attended by Danish ministers, UNCTAD Secretary-General and high-level representatives of various international organizations including the World Trade Organization, UNIDO and OECD.
