A day after the incident, rice trader Nurul Islam filed a case at Konabari police station.
According to the police, the four persons were arrested in various areas of Tangail on Wednesday morning.
SI Forkan Molla of Konabari Police Station said that 233 sacks of rice were looted from a shop in Bangalgach Bazaar of Gazipur Sadar Upazila on the night of January 18. In that incident, on February 1, the police arrested four people and recovered 220 sacks of rice.
According to the information given by the four people, the Konabari Thana police raided Tangail on Wednesday morning and arrested four more people. Apart from this, police recovered 120 sacks of looted rice and seized a pickup from Ambag.
On Wednesday, they were sent to the court asking for a three-day remand, and the court fixed the hearing on Thursday.
