A day after two youths were killed in a clash in Dinajpur’s Ghoraghat upazila, a group of villagers set fire to at least 40 houses in the area.
Phulbari Police Station OC Ashraf Miah said that this incident happened on Thursday afternoon.
Last Wednesday morning, two youths were killed in a dispute over land at Khodatpur Charmatha junction in Ghoraghat; At least four people were injured. The injured have been admitted to Ghoraghat Upazila Health Complex.
As a result of this, on Thursday afternoon, a group of villagers set a fire that burnt down about 40 houses of the opponent, including furniture and straw, according to the police.
Later, the fire was brought under control with the efforts of several units of the fire service.
OC Ashraf Mia said that efforts are being made to calm the angry people with additional police in the area to handle the situation.
