Aranyaka’s 8-day theater festival to celebrate 50 years

Nine old and new plays by Aranyak will be staged in the eight-day festival. There are also open outdoor events. The group has organized various events including seminars, instrumental music, tribal music, publication festival.

All the nine plays presented in the festival by a single group are their own productions, which is also a new addition to Dhaka’s theater practice.

‘Nankar Pala’, ‘Ora Kadam Ali’, ‘Iblish’, ‘Sankranti’, ‘Mayur Singhasan’, ‘Rajnetra’, ‘Kabar’, ‘Rarang’, ‘Kahe Facebook’ will be staged in the festival.

Aranyak Natyadal said that they are celebrating their 50th anniversary with various events throughout the year. As a part of this arrangement, the year-long festival has already been completed, staging new dramas, celebrating May Day, and the 200th exhibition of Rahang Drama. This year-long event will be concluded with an eight-day theater festival.

Artist Dino Kumar Chakma of Chakma Palagan will inaugurate the festival at Shilpakala Academy’s Nandan stage on January 27 afternoon.

Aranyak has produced numerous artists in his 50 years of theater practice, who are now shining in the showbiz arena of the country. Among them are Fazlur Rahman Babu, Chanchal Chowdhury, Akham Hasan, Shamim Zhanan, Jayraj, Tamalika Karmkar and many others. All of them will act in various plays of the festival.
