The prevailing cold front is expected to continue over large parts of the country, along with light or drizzle.

Rakibul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Chuadanga Meteorological Observatory, said that severe cold has been felt there for a week due to frosty winds. Out of these, the lowest daily temperature of last 7, 8 and 9 countries was recorded in Chuadanga. And January 12 recorded the lowest temperature of the season.

On Thursday, mild to moderate cold flow was flowing over Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions including Tangail, Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Manikganj, Jessore, Chuadanga, Kushtia, Barisal and Bhola districts. The minimum temperature recorded in Dhaka on this day was 12 degrees Celsius.

When the minimum temperature falls below 6 °C over a large area, it is called a severe cold current; Between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius it is called moderate and between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius it is called mild.
