51 days from Varanasi to Assam, including Bangladesh; Ready ‘Ganga Bilas’

And the country’s foreign minister S. Jaishankar said that the ‘world’s largest pleasure boat’ Ganga Bilas will run in 27 rivers. It will cross from Varanasi to Dibrugarh in more than 50 days on India-Bangladesh Protocol Sea Route.

On the long journey, the luxury Ganga will touch various places including Sundarbans, Dhaka.

India’s Anandabazar newspaper wrote, “Ganga Vilas” will reach Patna on the eighth day after starting from Varanasi, passing through Buxar, Ramnagar, Gazipur. From there it will take another two days to reach Kolkata via Farakka, Murshidabad.

“From Calcutta, ‘Ganga Vilas’ will cross towards Bengal. This pleasure boat will travel in the river of Bangladesh for another 15 days. Then it will enter India again through Kurigram, Bangladesh; The journey will end at Dibrugarh.

This luxurious yacht can accommodate a total of 80 passengers. There are various arrangements including music, cultural programs for the entertainment of tourists. Along with that, there is also a center for physical exercise and beauty.

A Facebook post by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Wednesday said, “This is another positive chapter in India-Bangladesh cooperation. Our communication system is also gradually improving towards the east.”
