Another Rohingya community leader was killed in the space of eight hours ‘due to dominance’ in the refugee camp in Ukhia upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
Ukhia Police Station OC Sheikh Mohammad Ali said that the incident took place in the B-Block of 8-West Rohingya Camp of Palangkhali Union of the upazila late on Saturday night.
The deceased Mohammad Salim is the son of Abdus Sobhan, a resident of B-Block of 8-West Rohingya Camp in Ukhia. He was the sub-community leader (upa-maajhi) of the management committee tasked with managing the camp block.
Earlier on Saturday evening, Mohammad Rashid (36), the chief community leader of A-Block of Rohingya Camp No. 15 in Ukhia, was stabbed to death by masked miscreants.
