The Champions League door is open for Ronaldo!

The UEFA Champions League is not closing the door for Cristiano Ronaldo to step into Asian football. The Portuguese star’s hopes of returning to Europe’s top flight have been kept alive by a clause in his contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Nasser.

Spanish sports magazine Marca has brought forward the terms of the deal. The 37-year-old forward can play on the wing if Newcastle United qualify for the Champions League.

Premier League side Newcastle are currently third. If they were to play in the Champions League, they would have been in the top four at the end of the season. The English club is currently owned by a Saudi Arabian investment group. Ronaldo’s current team Al Nasser is also from Saudi Arabia. Some people are also calculating in this way.
