Land under trial in Sylhet ‘attempt to occupy again, attack on houses’

A party has been accused of trying to occupy a piece of land in Shibganj of Sylhet city for the second time in two weeks.

S. Reena Devi, a Manipuri woman who is in possession of that land, said that this incident happened on Sunday morning.

Reena Devi also alleged that the attackers attacked and vandalized their house.

Earlier, Reena Devi made a general diary at Shahparan (R.) police station of Sylhet Metropolitan Police alleging that she tried to take possession by throwing sand on that land.

In this regard, Inspector (Investigation) of Shahparan Police Station, Indranil Bhattacharya said, after receiving a complaint of land grabbing, policemen were sent to the spot to control the situation. Currently, the policemen are responsible for the safety of the family. Further action will be taken if a written complaint is received in this regard.

Reena Devi alleged that hundreds of people including Ejaz Ahmad, the brother of Abdul Aziz Masuk, the defendant in the original case, tried to occupy their land at 6 am on Sunday. If you stop then they threaten to take a look. Later, when the matter was reported to the police, they left as the police came quickly.
