‘I will play thinking of the last World Cup’

Tite has already announced that he will step down as the coach of Brazil after the World Cup in Qatar. The name of the new coach is yet to be announced.

Brazil has won the World Cup a record five times. The last one was in 2002. Four more seasons have passed since then, none of which they have reached the final.

Neymar, who debuted in international football at the age of 18, has scored 75 goals for the national team so far. It is only a matter of time to surpass the legendary Pele’s record of 77 goals.

However, Neymar claims that he does not think about the record. Respect for his predecessor was evident in his voice.

“This is more than I dreamed, more than I imagined. I never thought about records, I never wanted to surpass anyone, I never wanted to break records. I’ve always just wanted to play football.”

“Pele means football. Pele is everything for our country. I have immense respect for him.”

Brazil are unbeaten since losing to Argentina in the Copa America final last year. Neymar himself is in great form for the club PSG. He has 15 goals and 12 assists in 19 matches so far this season across all competitions.
