‘There is only one thing, I want to save the Matabhanga river’


Locals formed a human chain in Chuadanga demanding protection of Mathabhanga river from encroachment and pollution.

Members of the ‘Save Mathabhanga River Movement’ organized a procession, human chain and visited the river on Saturday with the slogan ‘One thing, we want to save the Mathabhanga river’.

It is known on the ground that the procession started from the bank of the river Mathabhanga in the Chuadanga Police Superintendent’s office area at 9 am. After that, the procession around the court area ends near Mathabhanga river bridge in Barabazar.

Later they formed a human chain at Shaheed Hasan Square.

Hamidul Haque Munshi, President of Chuadanga of Save the Mathabhanga River Movement, spoke at the human chain.
