The police will interrogate the two arrested in the case of fraud by defaming the name of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s sister Sheikh Rehana.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Muhammad Asaduzzaman Noor remanded them for two days on Wednesday.
The two remanded accused are Tawhid Islam and Imran Hasan Mehdi.
Deputy Commissioner of Crime Information and Prosecution Department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Jasimuddin said that the SI of Banani Police Station, the investigating officer of the case, had applied for a seven-day remand.
It is alleged in the case that Imran applied to the Director General of the Health Department on August 1 for transfer from Magura district to Mymensingh without the authority’s permission. Gave a copy of that application to Tawhid. Later, in consultation with each other, on October 31, Sheikh Rehana forged a fake seal-signature and recommended lobbying.
The authorities were suspicious and reported the matter to RAB. Then RAB raided and arrested Imran and Tawhid from Mohakhali on Tuesday morning.
Then the medical officer of the Department of Health Dr. Md. Lutfar Rahman Shaheen filed the case at Banani police station.
