Local police officer Bhola Dutt said Reuters reported that at least eight houses collapsed in Nepal’s Doti district, killing six people. At least five others were seriously injured.
The late-night earthquake was felt in northern India, even from the capital, New Delhi. Videos circulating on social media showed terrified residents running out of their homes after the quake.
Earlier on Tuesday around 9 pm another earthquake occurred in the same area of Nepal. The USGS said the quake measured 4.8 on the Richter scale and had an epicenter near Dipayal.
