Next year, on May 5, 2008, a charge sheet was filed against 11 people including Khaleda Zia. They were accused of causing a financial loss of about 13 thousand 777 crores to the state.
The other defendants in the case are – the then Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Kamal Uddin Siddiqui, former Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Khandkar Shahidul Islam, former Senior Assistant Secretary CM Yusuf Hossain, former General Manager of BAPEX Mir Moinul Haque, former Secretary of BAPEX Md. Shafiur Rahman, businessman Ghiyas Uddin Al Mamun, former Member of Parliament for Bagerhat MAH Salim and NICO Vice President for South Asia Kashem Sharif.
Besides, former law minister BNP standing committee member Maudud Ahmad, former state energy minister AKM Mosharraf Hossain were accused in this case but were acquitted as they died.
