In 2021, the Hindu community in Noakhali was attacked in the wake of communal violence in Comilla. Two people including Jatan Saha died.
The complaint against Ruma is that the video he shared on social media was promoted as a video of the murder of Jatan Saha of Noakhali, but it was actually an old incident of the murder of a person named Sahinuddin of Mirpur, Dhaka.
Later, RAB arrested him and filed a case under the Digital Security Act at Ramna police station. After investigating the case, DB Police SI Jaydev Jaydhar submitted a charge sheet accusing the Ruma government.
