Children aged 5 to 11 years in the country are being given the Pfizer-BioEntech vaccine specially formulated for them. They should take the second dose eight weeks after the first dose.
On August 11, 17 students of Abul Bashar Government Primary School in Sher Bangla Nagar were experimentally vaccinated against coronavirus at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Dhaka.
Since then children aged 5 to 11 years were being vaccinated in the city corporation area of the country.
According to data from the Department of Health, more than 12 lakh 58 thousand children aged 5 to 11 have taken their first dose till Monday.
Shamsul Haque said that vaccination will be started in all districts on Tuesday as part of the nationwide program, said vaccination has been sent to the upazila level, now they will take action accordingly.
